Protecting your privacy is important to Northeast Bank. We want you to understand what information we collect and how we use it. In order to provide our customers with a broad range of financial products and services as effectively and conveniently as possible, we use technology to manage and maintain customer information. This Privacy Notice applies to Northeast Bancorp, Northeast Bank, and Northeast Bank Insurance Group.
What Information We Collect
We may collect "nonpublic personal information" about you. "Nonpublic personal information" is information about you, which is not available from public sources, obtained in connection with providing you with a financial product or service. For example, nonpublic personal information includes information regarding your account balance, payment history and deposit account activity. We may collect this personal information from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other loan and account forms
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates or others; and
- Information we receive from third parties such as credit bureaus.
In some cases, we may obtain "protected health information" about you. "Protected health information" is information provided by a third party such as an insurer, health plan, employer or health care provider that identifies you and relates to your health care, including payment for that care. Among other things, Northeast Bank Insurance Group may obtain information regarding your medical condition if you apply for insurance coverage.
What Information We Disclose
We may disclose the following kinds of nonpublic personal information about you such as:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other loan and account forms, such as your name, address, social security number, assets, and income;
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates or others, such as your account balance, payment history, parties to transactions, and credit card usage;
- Information we receive from a credit reporting agency, such as, your credit worthiness and credit history.
Who We Share Information With
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to non affiliated third parties. We may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to our "affiliates" (i.e., companies related to us by common control or ownership):
- Northeast Bancorp
- Northeast Bank
- Northeast Bank Insurance Group
As permitted by law:
- We may disclose the information we collect, as described above to companies that
perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with which
we have joint marketing agreements. - We may share information about our experiences or transactions with you or your
account (such as your account balances and your payment history with us) with
our affiliates. - We may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to "non affiliated third
parties" in certain other circumstances. For example, we may disclose nonpublic
personal information about you to third parties to assist us in servicing your loan or
account with us, to government entities in response to subpoenas, and to credit
bureaus. If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we
will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in this notice.
We may share additional information about you or your account (such as information we receive from you in applications and information from credit reporting agencies) with our affiliates. You may direct us not to disclose to our affiliates information that does not relate solely to us or our affiliates experiences or transactions with you or your account (such as application information and credit bureau information) by calling us at: 1-800-284-5989 or write us at: Privacy Administration, P.O. An opt-out request by any party on a joint account will apply to all parties on the joint account. Furthermore, all opt-out requests will apply to all disclosures of information except that which is allowed by law.
Important: Please be aware that if you choose to prohibit the sharing of information with our affiliates, you may miss out on receiving information about valuable benefits. Once your opt-out request has been processed, it will remain in effect until you request a change in writing.
Medical Information Will Not Be Shared
We do not share medical or health information among our affiliates or non affiliated third parties except to process transactions or to provide services you have requested or initiated.
Our Security Procedures
Access to your personal and account information is limited to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information. All employees are trained in these safeguards and standards with respect to the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. We take appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce employee responsibilities regarding customer information.
Internet Privacy
We use proven technology and established procedures for keeping your information secure. Whenever we may ask for personal information on our website or through our Internet banking, we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology to keep it confidential. You may visit our website to find out about our products and services without providing any information about yourself. We do gather data regarding visits to our website, including domain name, pages visited, length of user session, etc., to evaluate the usefulness of our site.
The bank may use a software cookie when you access our website. No cookie will contain any information that would enable anyone to contact you via telephone, e-mail, or U.S. Mail. (A cookie is a small piece of information that a website stores in the Web browser of your PC and can later retrieve. A cookie cannot be read by a website other than the one that sets the cookie. You can set your Web browser to inform you when cookies are set or to prevent cookies from being set.)
We do not knowingly solicit data from children, and we do not knowingly market to children. We recognize that protecting children's identities and privacy online is important and that the responsibility to do so rests with both the online industry and with parents.
If you choose to contact us via email, please keep in mind that your email address, and any other information your email header shows about you, such as your name or organization, will be revealed to us in the email. When you send email, we retain the contents of the email and your address in order to respond to your inquiry. We advise our customers not to include confidential information like account numbers in the email. We discourage the transmission of private information over unsecured communication channels and we will not transmit confidential information to our customers via email. Email sent within our on-line banking system is secure. The secure on-line transmission of information to Northeast Bank is only available within your on-line banking account.
Questions
We take appropriate steps to keep your account information accurate and up to date. If you notice that your information is not complete, accurate, or current, please call us at the telephone number on your account statement to let us know. We will correct the information as quickly as possible.

Northeast Bancorp, Northeast Bank, and Northeast Bank Insurance Group are committed to providing quality products and services with a high level of integrity regarding personal privacy. This Privacy Notice applies to financial products or services primarily for personal, family, or household purposes (not business purposes).
The examples given in the Privacy Notice are not meant to be exclusive. If you are satisfied with Northeast Bank's handling of information we collect, you do not need to take any action at this time. Please read this Privacy Notice and keep it for your records.
Credit Reporting Industry
To have your name taken off all pre-approved credit solicitations (not just Northeast Bank), you may call the credit reporting industry Pre-screening Opt-Out number at 1.888.5OPTOUT (1.888.567.8688).
National Do Not Call Registry
To have your phone number added to the National Do Not Call Registry, you may call 1.888.382.1222 or register at www.fcc.gov/cgb/donotcall. While this will stop most calls, you may still receive calls from businesses where you are a customer.
